I founded my first business (a real estate investment and development group) after transitioning from quite a non-traditional career. I'm a serial - and concurrent! - entrepreneur, and in the first six years of business, I replaced my income, retired my partner, moved into a forever home on the Thames, had a wonderful daughter, and achieved the lifestyle we worked so hard to design and create.
But it was a tough six years, and throughout the process of growing my businesses, there were many times I wanted to give up, many times when I looked around and felt like no one understood what I was doing or why, and many times where I just wanted to have a group of friends, a community - other women - I could call or have coffee with who were building businesses (and maybe building a family, too). Women who had drive and ambition and big aspirations, and didn't want to give it all up if they chose to become a parent. Women who were whip-smart, multi-passionate, focused, committed to learning, open to sharing... and fun to hang out with.
After years of looking around, I still hadn't found the community I was looking for, but I knew there were others out there like me. I felt it. So I created Entreprenora, in part, to help me find my tribe.
It doesn't matter if you're a woman in tech or in retail or in services or in astrophysics. The fundamentals of what we need to do, know, and believe to succeed as founders and as people don't change, even if our industries do. And there is something uniquely powerful about women coming together with focus and drive, whatever their backgrounds. It is that simple.
So join us and see for yourself the difference community makes.
